Design exploration for a more familiar form factor, all current designs on the market were body grip pruners.
Prototyping
Ergonomic evaluation showed that moving the motor out of the handle helped to reduce wrist strain, improve the tools center of gravity and allowed the user to grip the tool better.
Photoshop rendering
After testing each motor configuration the team unanimously voted for this layout due to balance, wrist angle, and the reach of the shears.
